Job summary

igus Bearings, Inc in Rumford, Rhode Island seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to drive the development and deployment of drylin actuators, motors and controllers. The role involves working with engineering, customers and sales to deploy existing applications and help identify new motion‑control solutions.

You will integrate electrical, mechanical and software components, ensure seamless device communication, and collaborate with teams locally and internationally to deliver successful

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of motors (stepper, servo, BLDC) and experience with PLCs and driver/controllers.
• Strong technical skills with ability to present concepts and provide hands‑on technique using our products.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
• Self-starter, team‑focused and good time management with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for igus linear actuators, motors and controllers to customers and sales teams in North America.
• Integrate electrical, mechanical and software components into cohesive automation solutions.
• Collaborate with local and international teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Work with product expert systems and online tools to identify suitable products.
• Develop and maintain training programs and deliver trainings with the Training and Development Department.
• Assist Product Manager in creating machines, demos and marketing materials.
• Monitor market and competition and maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
