Job summary

Leggett & Platt Inc. seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, test, and troubleshoot new components for the GSG/Machinery division.

You will contribute to electrical circuit design, prototyping, and qualification activities to support manufacturing across the globe. The role requires 2-3 years of electrical engineering experience, proficiency in IEC 61131, servo sizing, and coordinated motion systems, with domestic and international travel expected.

Qualifications

2-3 years Electrical Engineering experience.
Experience with designing electrical circuits and prototypes.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Design electrical circuits and build prototypes to prove concepts
Program in IEC 61131
Knowledgeable in servo sizing and selection
Knowledgeable in designing and programming coordinated motion systems
Perform engineering calculations
Create and revise detailed drawings and bill of materials
Ensure change management activities are completed and communicated
Perform board level and system level testing
Prepare test procedures and protocols for technicians
Document test results and generate high level summary reports
Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, etc.
Review product design for compliance with electrical engineering principles
Knowledgeable of UL, NEC, NFPA, and CE standards and work with Test Labs for certification
