Job summary

Engtal is seeking controls engineers to join a long-established custom machine builder in the Dayton area. The role combines PLC/HMI programming, electrical design, and equipment testing on diverse projects using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell hardware.

With dedicated field teams keeping travel to 0–10%, you’ll work with mechanical and manufacturing colleagues across the lifecycle, from junior to senior levels, and have opportunities to grow into leadership as the team expands.

Qualifications

• Electrical/controls engineering background required or related technical discipline.
• Exposure to industrial automation and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC programming and control systems.
• Ability to read or develop electrical schematics.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot PLC/HMI, primarily Rockwell/Allen-Bradley.
• Design electrical controls using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop and test equipment and perform FAT support.
• Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing teams across project lifecycles.
• Support field service activities with limited travel.
