Job summary

Mikron Automation in Englewood, CO seeks a Controls Engineer to design and integrate automation components for life sciences, automotive, and consumer goods sectors. You will support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes independent work, adherence to engineering standards, and mentoring junior engineers across project phases from design to post-installation service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience in automation and controls preferred.
• Proficient in Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming.
• Proficient with electrical hardware and schematics for industrial machinery.
• Familiar with NFPA 79, UL 508A, NEC.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and integrate automation components, systems, or software.
• Execute and support system testing, troubleshooting, and debug activities.
• Provide technical input in internal and customer-facing meetings.
• Create, maintain, and review engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs).
• Ensure safety standards and project requirements are met.
