Job summary

Sciemetric Integrated Systems Division seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to design electrical and pneumatic control systems, specify components, and develop PLC/HMI code for automated test equipment.

You will lead control system design, select hardware, and create diagrams to meet customer specifications, with emphasis on startup, debugging, and ensuring equipment performance stands.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in control system design of automation and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with PLC programming and machine startup/debug.
  • Pneumatic systems design and project management skills are strongly preferred.

Job description

Sciemetric Integrated Systems Division, is a one-stop shop for designing, building, integrating and supporting turnkey machines and test systems, is seeking an experienced professional Controls Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the designing of electrical and pneumatic control systems, specification of components, preparation diagrams, and development of PLC/HMI code for automated custom test equipment.

Job Responsibilities

As a Controls Engineer you will be responsible for control system design, programming, machine startup, customer interface and machine runoff. You will determine power requirements for control systems. Design electrical control systems. You will specify appropriate hardware components for the designed electrical control system and prepare controls diagrams to represent the system. You will determine requirements for test equipment, pneumatic control systems and design these control structures consisting of valves, flow devices, and other components. You will specify appropriate hardware components for the designed pneumatic control system. You will design machines and pick components based on the customers’ corporate and plant specifications.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Preparing circuit diagrams to represent the system
  • Creating and document BOM for system hardware
  • Startup and debug of designed control system
  • Development and debug of HMI software
  • Ensuring that the equipment is designed, built and performs to standard
Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who has at least 2 years’ experience in control system design of automation and industrial equipment; PLC programming and machine startup/debug. Pneumatic systems design and project management skills are strongly preferred.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
  • Experience with: Siemens Tia Portal,
  • Experience with Step 7,
  • Experience with Servo Drives
  • Experience with Fast Ford structure programming preferred
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving skills.
