Job summary

Swisslog is a world-leading robotics company shaping intralogistics. The Controls Engineer will serve as the primary controls and automation resource supporting the onsite Sys Ops team at our customer site, delivering PLC, HMI, and lifecycle support to ensure safe, reliable operation of the facility.

You will analyze automation performance, coordinate with OEMs and vendors, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining system availability and uptime for critical material handling operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or material handling.
• Proficient in PLC/SCADA troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Experience reading and modifying PLC programs in multiple languages.
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution systems and automation equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Modify, maintain, and optimize PLC and HMI applications for facility operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade installed automation systems with Sys Ops support.
• Provide after-hours controls support to maintain availability.
• Assist with controls-related troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and error recovery.
• Maintain material handling control systems and networks (Asi, Profibus, etc.).
• Support upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and capital projects.
• Analyze system performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Communicate issues and improvements to Site Manager and Sys Ops leadership.
