Interlake Mecalux, Inc. in Melrose Park, IL is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and program warehouse control systems. You will develop software using Galileo and AWS Designer, perform controller and safety tests, and support on-site commissioning.

Responsibilities include integrating Profibus/Profinet networks, testing with Sycon.net and TIA Portal, loading control programs to VFDs and HMIs, and training customers on system operation. 80% travel expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical, industrial, or mechanical).
• At least 1 year of professional exposure to Industrial Automation.
• Knowledge of PLC, HMI and SCADA programming preferred.
• C programming language knowledge preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of Frequency Inverters parameterization and operation (SEW and Lenze) preferred.
• Knowledge of the Fieldbus networks (Profibus, Profinet, etc.) preferred.
• Spanish fluency is ideal.
• Personality: organized and methodical with quick learning ability; able to work under time pressure.
• Able and willing to travel at least 80%.

Responsabilités

• Engage in proprietary software development using Designer AWS and Galileo to create warehouse solutions.
• Create control programs using Designer AWS and Galileo by configuring Profibus or Profinet networks with Sycon.net and performing tests.
• Conduct installation startup by checking the Profibus/Profinet network and running diagnostic tests with Sycon.net, TIA Portal, Galileo, and Proneta.
• Load control programs to the VFD control drive, operator panels, barcode scanners, and PCs.
• Check safety devices using easySoft-Safety software and conduct physical inspections.
• Delegate daily tasks to electromechanics and electricians; report deviations to PM and Site Manager.
• Assist Project Managers in determining human resources and work schedules.
• Commission the on-site control program by uploading proprietary software; debug and troubleshoot on-site.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and clients to ensure needs are met.
• Conduct training courses for customers on Galileo software and HMI interfaces; schedule on-site or virtual trainings.
• Provide progress reports to department and project managers with daily updates.
