Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America in Sparks, Nevada is seeking a Controls Engineer II to design, analyze, and implement control systems for high‑volume battery production. You’ll coordinate with manufacturing, ensure safety compliance, and optimize processes using Keyence Cognex vision and PLCs from Mitsubishi and Omron.

You will work on prototype to production transitions, develop drawings and test programs, and support energy efficiency initiatives while aligning with Panasonic’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Preferred: Degree in Chemical/Electrochemical/Materials Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70/79 and UL standards for industrial machinery.
• Experience with 480 V panel installations and control wiring design.
• Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting vision systems (Keyence/Cognex).

Responsibilities

• Programming, installing, and troubleshooting Keyence vision systems within Panasonic’s battery manufacturing processes.
• Programming, installing, and troubleshooting PLC systems (Mitsubishi/Omron) within Panasonic’s battery manufacturing processes.
• Analyze specifications to determine manufacturable designs.
• Evaluate feasibility of new plant equipment and layout.
• Prepare detailed product/system drawings and schematics.
• Direct prototype production and testing programs.
• Develop experimental test plans and analyze data.
