Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) seeks a Controls Engineer to join a technical team responsible for improving automation and manufacturing processes in a highly automated facility in Lansing, MI.

You will program Mitsubishi PLC systems, develop control logic, and integrate Bar Code, RFID, robotics, and vision systems while collaborating with internal/external customers and vendors. 0–3 years experience is preferred; a related degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation (or related) required.
• 0 to 3 years industrial controls experience in manufacturing/ automotive environment preferred.
• Exposure to controls and electrical systems design, automation, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing equipment.
• Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills.
• Exposure or education in Battery systems or processes is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Program automation and controls systems of various manufacturers using Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Create, monitor, and modify logic for design, simulation, testing, start-up and troubleshooting.
• Integrate systems such as Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Ultrasonic Welding, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and improve production.
