Job summary

Columbia University in the City of New York invites applications for a Controls Engineer to oversee building automation, DES and distributed systems at the Manhattanville campus. The role requires managing daily operations, troubleshooting, and coordinating with licensed personnel to ensure safe, efficient building performance.

The position is 40 hours per week with a 2:00pm–10:30pm schedule, in the Facilities department, focusing on reliability, safety, and cost-effective operation of campus

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Service Mechanic - Level 3 or 5 years as HVAC&R mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair building automation and controls systems.
• Manage and repair system controls equipment including chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs and lighting controls.
• Provide guidance and support for communication controls systems and power monitoring.
• Maintain and operate BMS/SCADA and adjust controls loops as needed.
• Perform daily operating decisions during emergencies and coordinate with supervisor.
