Job summary

Valero is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide process control support for ethanol plant operations and capital projects, developing control system specifications, P&IDs, and instrument specifications in a collaborative environment.

You will support Honeywell Experion DCS, Rockwell PlantPAx DCS, and Allen-Bradley PLCs, work on-site in Fort Dodge, IA, and participate in PHA/HAZOP analyses while driving compliance with PSM and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher.
Minimum of two years engineering experience.
Must be able to work on-site and in-person.

Responsibilities

Support Honeywell Experion DCS, Rockwell PlantPAx DCS, and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
Monitor and maintain compliance with standards and practices.
Develop project plans and collaborate with Plant/Process Engineers, IS, and staff.
Act as a liaison between Valero Renewables and Valero I/S, suppliers, and contractors.
Maintain/modify existing control systems during operations and outages.
Provide process control troubleshooting expertise to daily operations.
Participate in PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA activities at corporate and plant levels.
Develop, monitor, and report on plant instrumentation management for PSM compliance and best practices.
Support OSIsoft PI enterprise-wide data acquisition and analysis tool.
