Job summary

Valero Energy is seeking an Associate Project Engineer for our ethanol plants, on-site at Bluffton, Linden or Mount Vernon in Indiana. You will support project engineering across the ethanol fleet from conception to completion, developing and executing capital, expense and maintenance projects safely and efficiently.

Preferred qualifications include a BS in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Civil/Agriculture or Bio Systems Engineering, plus experience in non-destructive testing and ethanol

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Agriculture or Bio Systems Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in non-destructive testing (preferred).
• Experience in ethanol production, chemical processing, food processing, oil refining, or power plant industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support project engineering activities related to multiple projects across the Valero ethanol fleet.
• Provide engineering support from conception through completion including development, design and execution of capital, expense and maintenance projects in a safe and efficient manner.
• Contribute to cost estimating and oversight of project budget; track scope and change management; prepare justification and project documents for approvals.
