Job summary

Koops is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, develop, and debug control systems for end-of-line packaging equipment. You will program PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion controllers, and create electrical layouts with CAD tools.

You will collaborate with mechanical and project teams, translate customer requirements into robust automation solutions, and participate in on-site startup with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year engineering degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of Controls Engineering experience in automation.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robots, motion control, pneumatics, and vision systems
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug control systems for end of line packaging equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion control systems.
• Develop electrical layouts and detailed schematics using CAD software.
• Integrate sensors, pneumatics, and vision systems into automation solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, project, and build teams.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Support on-site debugging and system startup as needed (travel ~25%).
