Job summary

Hussmann Corporation seeks a Controls Engineer to develop, validate, and release electronic control products and software-enabled features for Hussmann equipment. You will translate customer needs into functional control solutions and lead cross‑functional activities across new product development and improvements.

You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Field Service to ensure reliable control operation, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.
• Experience with control systems, refrigeration or similar industries.
• Experience validating control system functionality at application and component levels.
• Strong communication skills and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Capture functional requirements and create design documentation for electronic control systems and PC based applications.
• Coordinate with suppliers and development partners to improve electronic designs for cost, quality, reliability, and functionality.
• Review system‑level control assemblies including embedded PCs, PLCs, power supplies, displays, sensors, wiring harnesses, and communication interfaces.
• Analyze and validate application‑specific electronics and 3rd‑party components for system compatibility and regulatory compliance.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level validation, testing, and analysis to ensure proper control operation and customer‑driven functionality.
• Support validation of software behavior in control systems, including troubleshooting and identifying improvements.
• Contribute to the development of manuals, instructions, test procedures, user documentation, and technical bulletins.
