Job summary

The Controls Engineer will implement technical projects/new equipment, maintain the industrial network, and perform PLC work across the plant. You will collect shop floor data, resolve issues with the plant, and support SQF compliance and food safety programs.

Candidate should have 3-5 years in manufacturing or industrial programming, and experience leading teams. Degree in engineering or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Implement technical projects/new equipment and maintain the industrial network.
• Maintain and program PLCs and collect shop floor data.

• Monitor deviations from HACCP & SQF programs to supervisor.
• Coordinate operations and support data mining efforts.

Our client is a growing Food and Beverages manufacturing organisation. They are looking for a strong Controls Engineer

The role:

The Controls Engineer is responsible for the implementation of technical projects/new equipment, maintenance of the industrial network, ongoing PLC work, shop floor data collection, and will assist with resolution of technical issues with the plant.

• All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
• Ensure plant industrial systems are maintained at optimum efficiency.
• Program systems to interact with the industrial network such as corporate ERP or factory efficiency systems.
• Be a resource for data mining for plant and coordinate operations.
• Assist in implementation of programming for plant capital projects.
• Make necessary changes to current systems to meet operational needs.
• Participate in the selection process for new equipment.
• Assist with implementation of projects as chosen by the plant teams.
• Support the Maintenance Manager during project implementation.
• SQF Support - Responsible for development, training, implementation and compliance to the SQF program.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Degree or Certification in Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
