Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. seeks a Controls Engineer to plan, design, and execute electrical engineering and controls for manufacturing and assembly equipment, including custom integration and purchased machinery.

You will develop hardware specifications and schematics, troubleshoot with maintenance, ensure machine safety per codes, support new product development with engineering teams, and contribute to automated manufacturing technologies such as robotics and vision systems.

Qualifications

Experience in controls design, panel construction, and PLC programming in high-volume assembly.
Knowledge of robotics, motion control, vision, sensors, and VFDs.
Familiarity with machine safety and wiring standards.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read electrical BOMs and schematics.

Responsibilities

Provide controls and electrical engineering design for custom assembly applications including hardware specification, integration, electrical BOM, and schematics.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment with maintenance and engineering personnel.
Ensure machine safety by applying codes and updating design specifications.
Control programs and electrical equipment drawings with current revisions for maintenance staff.
Support new product development with engineering and project teams for assembly and testing solutions.
