Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission electrical controls for manufacturing and assembly equipment, including custom integration and purchased machinery.

You will work with maintenance and engineering to troubleshoot, ensure machine safety, and update designs as technologies evolve. The role supports new product development, collaborates with various project teams, and helps implement automated manufacturing technology such as robotics

Qualifications

• BSEE from accredited four-year college or university.
• At least two years of experience in controls design, panel construction, and PLC programming in a high-volume assembly environment.
• Knowledge of robotics, motion control, vision, sensors, and variable frequency drives.
• Functional knowledge of machine safety and wiring standards, including relevant code requirements.
• Functional knowledge of network architecture and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide controls and electrical engineering design and programming for custom assembly applications including hardware specification, integration, electrical BOM, and schematics.
• Facilitate advanced troubleshooting and repair of equipment with maintenance and engineering staff.
• Ensure machine safety by applying relevant codes, updating design specifications and modifying equipment as needed.
• Support new product development by collaborating with engineering and project teams for assembly and testing solutions.
