Job summary

Jobot is hosting a permanent, full-time Controls Engineer position in the Chicago Metro Area. You will design, implement, and maintain control systems to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, with proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and systems integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing in a similar role.
• Proficient in PLC programming, SCADA, control systems design, automation, and industrial control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems to improve production in safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage and optimize SCADA data collection, analysis, and process control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot PLC-based control issues.
• Develop SOPs and system performance layouts; provide training to operations and maintenance.
