Job summary

HOJ Innovations designs and delivers autonomous material handling solutions. The Controls Engineer will develop PLC and HMI programs, integrate AMRs, and coordinate with electricians to support installations and service.

The role requires hands-on hardware work and strong problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and field personnel to resolve site requirements, support AMR deployments, and document system designs and troubleshooting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Hands-on hardware with software and electrical systems.
Beckhoff IPCs and TwinCAT experience a plus.
Ignition by Inductive Automation experience a plus.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, REST APIs and fieldbus protocols.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC and HMI programs.
Integrate AMRs within automation systems and support deployments.
Develop system integrations between PLCs, AMRs, HMIs, WMS/MES, and external platforms.
Troubleshoot PLCs, servo axes, SCADA, drives, and electronics.
Perform on-site commissioning and support installations.
Document designs, configurations, and procedures.
Coordinate with electricians and installers for electrical work.
