Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis, TN is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, build, and commission automated control systems for cooling plants, electrical distribution, liquid loops, and data halls.

You will develop and commission control systems, write PLC code, create HMI screens, and integrate with BMS/SCADA. Expect a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment with travel to campus locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 1+ years of automation/control systems design and commissioning experience.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual development balancing specs, cost, lead-time.
• Lay out NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliant control panels and create schematics.
• Simulate processes to validate automation proposals for cooling plants and electrical systems.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code with maintainable structure.
• Create intuitive HMI screens for plant systems and troubleshooting feedback.
• Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, and fluid plumbing.
• Size electrical/electromechanical components like VFDs and servo motors.
• Deploy automation across live campus operations (BMS/EPMS/SCADA/PLC).
• Set schedules and budgets to ensure project completion.
