Job summary

Lear Corporation in Flint, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer (2nd shift) to develop and implement software and hardware changes that reduce downtime and improve system efficiency in a fast-paced assembly environment.

You will troubleshoot PLCs (Rockwell), program HMIs, coordinate with outside contractors, and lead continuous improvement across production lines while maintaining records and supporting ISO/TS procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BAS); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with PLCs (ControlLogix, MicroLogix, and CompactLogix – Rockwell software) – must be able to understand ladder logic and make programming changes. Siemens programming experience a plus.
• Experienced in programming of HMIs (Panelview, etc)
• Experience with automation equipment (Fanuc / ABB Robots and Vision Systems).
• Experience with electric torque control equipment (Atlas Copco / Stanley)

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements software and hardware changes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshooting and programming of PLC’s to resolve problems, improve efficiency and quality.
• Instruct and coordinate the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity.
• Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Work with other departments to ensure optimal performance of production line.
• Implement improvement plans and activities.
• Maintain accurate records of part specific parameters and changes.
• Requisition tools, equipment and supplies.
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate parts and supplies to minimize production downtime.
