Job summary

OPmobility in Austin, TX, is seeking a Controls Engineer for 2nd shift to maintain and optimize production equipment, program Siemens PLCs, and support automation systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Controls/Mechatronics and 3–5+ years in automotive manufacturing, with English required; Spanish/German a plus. The role offers growth, comprehensive health benefits, PTO, and 401k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls/Mechatronics or related field.
• 3–5+ years in manufacturing or automotive environment.
• Experience with Siemens PLC programming and HMI systems.
• Robotic programming and industrial automation knowledge.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering tools.
• Familiarity with MES systems and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
• English required; Spanish and/or German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on production equipment.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs (Siemens), HMI systems, and automation equipment.
• Support robotic programming and ensure proper functionality of automated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to safety, quality, and downtime.
• Modify and optimize equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to standardize processes.
• Participate in new equipment installations, upgrades, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001; promote 5S and Lockout/Tagout.
