Job summary

L2x Talent Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer for industrial automation projects in Wisconsin. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot control systems for custom equipment, and lead the integration of PLCs, HMIs, and drives into new builds.

The role requires hands-on experience in machine checkout, commissioning, and startup, plus deep knowledge of UL508A, UL698A, and NEC standards. You will create electrical drawings and documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle, including design, development, programming, testing, commissioning, and startup.
  • Experience supporting custom machinery, engineered-to-order equipment, or industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain electrical drawings, technical documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Experience with electrical panel design and schematic development using SolidWorks Electrical and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Hands-on experience with machine checkout, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 480VAC three-phase, 120VAC, and 24VDC control systems.
  • Working knowledge of UL508A, UL698A, and NEC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot industrial control systems for custom equipment and machinery.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and VFD programs to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Integrate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, relays, safety devices, and other control components into new and retrofit machine builds.
  • Perform machine testing and validation to verify that control systems, field devices, and electrical components operate according to design specifications and comply with UL508A, UL698A, and NEC standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, motors, drives, and circuits during equipment checkout, commissioning, startup, and field support activities.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers and service teams through phone, email, and remote access platforms.
  • Create and maintain electrical drawings, controller tag databases, process narratives, operating instructions, and project documentation.
  • Update and maintain electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring schedules, budgets, and customer expectations are met.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing both in-house and at customer locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and system performance.

Education
