Job summary

International Automotive Components in Warren, MI is seeking a capital equipment engineer to manage the full lifecycle of manufacturing capital equipment, from raw materials to finished goods, and to lead process development that meets safety, quality, cycle, scrap, and labor standards.

You will train staff, document controls, participate in PFMEA, and collaborate with Maintenance and Quality on projects while driving continuous improvement and scrap reduction through hands-on trouble-shooting

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming required.
• Strong HMI development skills with FactoryTalk.
• Solid understanding of Ethernet/IP and industrial protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience with servos and VFDs.
• Fanuc robot programming experience (2+ years).
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality on project work.
• Familiarity with Keyence safety equipment.
• Vision systems using Keyence cameras and scanners.
• Hands-on technical support with the maintenance team.
• Ability to debug control systems.

General Description:

• Manages all aspects of the capital equipment process from raw material to finished good.
• Participate/lead development of process that meets safety, quality, cycle, scrap, and labor standards.
• Establish controls and parameters for maintaining and monitoring the process.
• Train personnel on how to maintain the process and identify any critical issues that may need special attention.
• Document all process controls.
• Participate in PFMEA activities.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and scrap reduction.

Position Specific Requirements (PSR):

• Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC programming (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000)
• Proficiency in HMI development (Factorytalk)
• Strong Understanding of Industrial communications protocols (mostly Ethernet/IP)
• Read and Interpret Electrical schematics
• Experience with servos and VFDs
• Fanuc robot programming (2+ years)
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Quality on project work
• Safety Equipment (Keyence)
• Vision Systems (Keyence Cameras and Scanners)
