Controls Engineer

Virginia |upto $50 per hour DOE | Full-time | Weekly travel

We’re working with an automation and packaging machinery specialist seeking a Controls Engineer with exceptional Rockwell Studio 5000 programming skills.

This hands-on role involves developing, testing and commissioning control systems for high-speed automated machinery, with travel to customer sites every week.

The Role

• Develop and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC programs using Studio 5000.
• Support factory testing, installation, commissioning and customer start-ups.
• Integrate PLCs with robotics, HMIs, machine vision and servo motion systems.
• Diagnose faults and optimise machine performance at customer sites.

What We’re Looking For

• Advanced Studio 5000 programming ability is essential, including developing and troubleshooting complex PLC programs independently.
• Willingness to travel every week.
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence working directly with customers.
• Mechanical and electrical experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with ABB robotics, Cognex vision or FactoryTalk HMI systems would be beneficial.
