Schedule: Monday–Thursday (9 hours/day) + Friday (4 hours)
Overview
Our client is seeking an entry-level Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, and integration of automated manufacturing systems. This position plays a hands‑on role in electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, and system commissioning. The role works closely with engineering, project management, and build teams to ensure successful delivery of custom automation equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems and software based on project and customer requirements.
- Test, select, and integrate hardware such as robots, motion controllers, sensors, grippers, vision systems, and related automation components.
- Debug PLC/HMI programs during internal system testing and at customer sites during installation.
- Support machine builders and electrical technicians during system assembly and troubleshooting.
- Provide project updates, elevate issues, and collaborate closely with project managers.
- Travel to customer and supplier locations for installation, commissioning, and training (approx. 25%).
Preferred Experience
- Strong background with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and HMIs (Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View).
- Experience creating or updating electrical schematics.
- Experience developing applications using C#, Visual Studio, or .NET.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; controls or software focus preferred.
- 1–3+ years of experience in automation, controls programming, or electrical design.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (passport required).
- Hands‑on approach to problem solving and system integration.
