Job summary

KERN-LIEBERS in the United States seeks a Tool Design and Automation Engineer responsible for CAD tooling design, cost estimation, and production optimization in close collaboration with engineering and production teams.

You will resolve complex tooling challenges, identify cost-saving opportunities, validate part requirements, support spring production process development, contribute to quality improvements, and travel to international subsidiaries as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable field
  • Strong knowledge in CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP
  • Knowledge and Experience in PLC programming (Required) robotic applications (Siemens preferred)
  • Experience in bending technology or other metal forming processes
  • Problem solving skills, root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities for testing and data analysis
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (required)
  • Electrical background (required)

Responsibilities

  • CAD Design and cost estimation for tooling and machines in close cooperation with the engineering and production team.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical machines and tool challenges quickly
  • Identify cost saving potential in the production and tooling process and support to execute those.
  • Support engineering team to validate part requirements and make sure the tooling and machines will meet the spring specifications
  • Spring production process development and optimization, in close cooperation with the production team.
  • Be part of the quality complaint process and support with identifying and executing corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, materials science, and spring manufacturing processes
  • Support our international subsidiaries, potential on site travel
  • Independence, dedication, willingness to collaborate, and ability to work in a team
  • Quality and machine rates, costs of tooling and spare parts, downtime and reduction of production scrap

Job description

Responsible for tool design, automatization projects, and production optimization

  • CAD Design and cost estimation for tooling and machines in close cooperation with the engineering and production team.
  • Ability to resolve complex technical machines and tool challenges quickly
  • Responsible for identifying cost saving potential in the production and tooling process and support to execute those.
  • Support engineering team to validate part requirements and make sure the tooling and machines will meet the spring specifications

Basic Computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, Teams, Co-Pilot)

Strong knowledge in CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP

Knowledge and Experience in PLC programming (Required) robotic applications (Siemens preferred)

Experience in bending technology or other metal forming processes

Problem solving skills, root cause analysis

Strong analytical and mathematical abilities for testing and data analysis

TRAINING WILL BE REQUIRED IN GERMANY
