Job summary

KERN-LIEBERS USA is seeking a skilled Mechanical/Mechatronics engineer to drive tool design, automation projects, and production optimization. You will work with engineering and production teams to design tooling, estimate costs, and push for cost savings while ensuring tooling and machines meet required specifications.

The role requires CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), SAP experience, and PLC programming for robotic applications; travel to international subsidiaries may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Electrical background required.
• Strong CAD knowledge: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP.
• PLC programming experience for robotic applications.
• Experience in bending technology or metal forming.
• Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design tools and automate projects for production optimization.
• CAD design and cost estimation for tooling and machines with the engineering team.
• Identify cost-saving potentials in tooling and production processes.
• Support validation of part requirements to meet specifications.
• Spring production process development and optimization with production team.
• Participate in quality complaint investigations and corrective actions.
• Support international subsidiaries; potential on-site travel.
• Monitor costs of tooling, spare parts, downtime, and scrap reduction.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable field
• Required electrical background
• Strong knowledge in CAD tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP
• Requierd knowledge and Experience in PLC programming robotic applications
• Experience in bending technology or other metal forming processes
• Strong troubleshooting skills required, problem solving skills, and root cause analysis
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities for testing and data analysis
• Basic Computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, Teams, Co-Pilot)

Your Responsibilities

• Responsible for tool design, automatization projects, and production optimization
• CAD Design and cost estimation for tooling and machines in close cooperation with the engineering and production team
• Responsible for identifying cost saving potential in the production and tooling process and support to execute those
• Support engineering team to validate part requirements and make sure the tooling and machines will meet the spring specifications
• Spring production process development and optimization, in close cooperation with the production team
• Be part of the quality complaint process and support with identifying and executing corrective actions
• Supporting our international subsidiaries, potential on site travel
• Quality and machine rates, costs of tooling and spare parts, downtime and reduction of production scrap
