Radiant Systems Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical support for production equipment, PLC/NC/CNC programming, robotics, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

The engineer will work closely with maintenance, production, electrical, and mechanical teams to resolve complex equipment issues and maintain production throughput, with a night shift schedule Sunday 10 PM through Friday 6 AM and occasional weekend OT on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
  • 5–7+ years of controls engineering/industrial automation experience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • CAD and Microsoft Office experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support production lines with PLC, NC, CNC, HMI, and controls programming.
  • Develop and troubleshoot Siemens-based control systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment repairs/modifications.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, KUKA and FANUC robots, and automated gantries.
  • Configure sensors, actuators, and industrial control devices.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and provide second-level technical support.
  • Perform system testing, debugging, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Read and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC logic documentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production lines with PLC, NC, CNC, HMI, and controls programming.
  • Develop and troubleshoot Siemens-based control systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment repairs/modifications.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, KUKA and FANUC robots, and automated gantries.

Must-Have Skills
  • Solid electrical/electromechanical background with hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, KUKA/FANUC robots, and gantry systems.
  • Experience with HMI and industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7+ years of controls engineering/industrial automation experience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
