Job summary

VBeyond Corporation in Petal, MS is hiring a hands-on Automation Engineer to program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC-based systems. You will support HMI/SCADA, plant monitoring, and data applications while solving electrical and communication faults on the shop floor.

You will lead controls upgrades and equipment integrations, assist with commissioning and startup of new equipment, and collaborate with maintenance, operations, and external integrators. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering preferred.
• Hands-on PLC programming and diagnostics on plant floor.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot and improve PLC-based automation and machine control systems
• Develop and support HMI, SCADA, plant monitoring and industrial data applications
• Diagnose complex electrical, instrumentation, controls and communication faults
• Lead controls upgrades, equipment integrations and automation improvement projects
• Support commissioning, testing and start-up of new and modified production equipment
• Work with plant maintenance, engineering, operations, OEMs and external integrators to resolve technical issues
• Support industrial robotics, machine vision and automated manufacturing systems across multiple locations

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong industrial controls or automation engineering background within a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on PLC programming experience, ideally including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Siemens
• Experience with HMI and SCADA platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk or similar industrial systems
• Good understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols including EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus and OPC
• Experience with industrial robotics such as FANUC or ABB would be highly advantageous
• Comfortable reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation and machine-control systems
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering preferred, although substantial relevant industrial automation experience will also be considered
• Able to work independently, solve problems on the plant floor and communicate effectively with maintenance and operations teams
