Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists in Portland, OR is seeking a Controls Engineer to join a structured development programme. You'll gain hands-on experience with PLCs, electrical systems, industrial networking, and commissioning.

You’ll work on large-scale material handling and conveyor systems, configure and test PLC-based controls, read electrical schematics, and collaborate with controls, software, and electrical engineers. Travel for deployments is required.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, EET, Mechatronics, or related field
Exposure to PLCs, robotics, or automation
Basic programming experience preferred
Willingness to travel for project deployments

Responsibilities

Configure, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems
Interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
Support system validation, startup, and commissioning activities
Work with industrial networks, sensors, VFDs, and field devices
Collaborate with controls, software, and electrical engineers
