Job summary

Motivair by Schneider Electric, a global leader in advanced liquid cooling technologies, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for New Product Development to design and adapt custom mechanical solutions for customer specs. You will ensure performance, manufacturability, and quality across the liquid‑cooling portfolio.

The role focuses on creating 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs while collaborating with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years or more of mechanical engineering experience in product design or thermal-management systems.
  • Expert proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation, including GD&T.
  • Experience with sheet metal, weldments, plastics, tubing, and mechanical packaging.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and industry standards.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed mechanical design, analysis, verification, and documentation for New Product Development liquid‑cooling systems.
  • Develop custom configurations and packaging solutions to meet customer performance and installation requirements.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and full BOMs according to company engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers on component selection and manufacturability.
  • Interpret mechanical schematics, specifications, and customer documentation to define engineering requirements.
  • Design sheet metal, weldments, plastics, tubing, and mechanical assemblies for new and existing products.
  • Support cross‑functional efforts with electrical, controls, manufacturing, project management, and quality teams.
  • Assist with sustaining engineering, design standardization, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize workload effectively to meet changing project demands.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development team. This role involves designing and adapting custom mechanical solutions based on customer specifications, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and quality across our liquid‑cooling portfolio.

  • Understanding of Lean or continuous‑improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CFD, FEA, or thermal analysis tools.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
