Job summary

Applica seeks a SIS Controls Engineer in Houston, TX on a hybrid contract. The role focuses on data validation and quality assurance across Safety Instrumented Systems and control systems, with emphasis on data integrity and alignment across multiple sources including DiCE frameworks.

The engineer will validate SIS and control system tags, perform cross-system checks, and document discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting and traceable milestones throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support automated DiCE metrics table population using established templates and validation rules
• Clean, organize, and transform large datasets to ensure accurate reporting
• Perform cross-system consistency checks and track validation progress against milestones
• Execute detailed tag-by-tag comparisons across C&E documentation and reference sources (instrument lists, I/O lists, logic narratives)
• Identify and document discrepancies including missing tags, mismatches, and duplicates
• Validate SIS and control system tags for completeness and accuracy
• Log findings clearly and elevate unresolved issues with supporting documentation

About the role

We’re supporting a large, highly regulated industrial environment seeking a Controls Engineer to assist with data validation and quality assurance across Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and control systems.

This role is heavily focused on data integrity, documentation validation, and ensuring alignment across multiple technical sources, particularly within Digital Cause & Effect (DiCE) frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
