Fort Lauderdale, FL (Commutable from: Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Hollywood, Deerfield Beach, Miami, Coral Springs, Delray Beach)

Are you a Controls Engineer who can write PLC code from scratch with knowledge of Kinetix and Servo Motors and wants to become a true automation specialist? Do you have AutoCAD electrical design and PLC/HMI programming experience, and want structured training and progression toward Principal and Lead Controls Engineer roles?

This is a permanent position with a long-established, specialist machinery manufacturer where you’ll own projects end-to-end—electrical design through programming, testing, debugging, and commissioning—rather than being stuck on repetitive, single-task work.

You’ll join a growing engineering team building bespoke custom machinery used across industries such as automotive, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and packaging. You’ll get hands-on exposure to motion control and robotics, with training in advanced automation technologies as the business continues to expand.

In this role you’ll produce electrical schematics in AutoCAD, generate Bills of Materials, select components, develop PLC and HMI code, and support troubleshooting and commissioning of custom machines in a collaborative engineering environment.

This role suits a high-progression motivated engineer who wants technical depth, specialist automation training, and a clear route into senior controls leadership over time.

The Role:

• Design electrical control systems in AutoCAD and generate Bills of Materials / component selections
• Write PLC and HMI code (including from scratch) and debug/troubleshoot bespoke machinery
• Full-time, on-site role in Fort Lauderdale supporting projects through testing/commissioning

The Person:

• Controls/automation experience with PLC + HMI programming (able to write PLC code from scratch)
• Electrical design skills in AutoCAD (or similar) with strong circuit/schematic understanding
• Clear communicator with strong troubleshooting skills in a custom machinery environment
