That Recruitment Company is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design and program control systems for highly complex, custom machinery—from concept through commissioning.

You'll develop PLC and HMI software on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, integrate Fanuc and Yaskawa robotics, and work with servo-controlled, multi-axis systems. Qualifications

Up to $150,000, depending on experience

Are you a Controls Engineer who wants to do more than troubleshoot existing equipment or commission code written by someone else?

This established OEM designs and manufactures highly complex, configurable machinery for customers across multiple industries. Each machine is built from the ground up, giving you the opportunity to follow projects from an initial concept through programming, commissioning and bringing the equipment to life.

What you’ll be working on

• Designing and programming control systems for complex custom machinery
• Developing PLC and HMI software using Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms
• Integrating Fanuc and Yaskawa robotic systems
• Working with servo-controlled and multi-axis motion systems
• Supporting projects throughout the full cradle-to-grave lifecycle
• Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, assembly and tooling specialists
• Reviewing code and contributing to shared controls standards
• Travelling internationally for installation, commissioning and customer support
• Using AI tools to support software development, code reviews and real-time PLC troubleshooting

The business is also exploring how onboard AI assistants could support customers directly from its machines in the future, making this a genuinely forward-thinking environment within industrial automation.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience
• Previous experience within an OEM or custom machinery environment is strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and industrial robotics
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens control platforms
• Experience with Fanuc and Yaskawa robotics
• Good knowledge of servo control
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately 10–30% of the time
• An open-minded approach to learning and using AI-powered engineering tools
• A collaborative working style. This is a supportive controls group where engineers share knowledge, help with each other’s code and follow common standards
