• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (~30% travel)
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting to maintenance teams

Job description

Location: Oneida, NY | Schedule: Full-time, on-site with approximately 30% travel | Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000

Overview

An established, growing manufacturer is seeking a Controls Engineer to support its expanding production operations. This role is key to keeping manufacturing equipment running efficiently and to leading the integration of new systems across multiple facilities.

What you'll do

• Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs
• Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, along with providing Siemens controls support
• Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across multiple local facilities (approximately 30% travel)
• Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting support to maintenance teams, including equipment diagnostics, upgrades, wiring, and real-time machine issue resolution
• Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify or develop PLC logic to support production and operational improvements

Required qualifications

• AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience (equivalent years of experience considered in lieu of formal degree)
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standards
• Candidates must be eligible to work in US without restriction indefinitely
