Job summary

ACE Partners is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical schematics, control systems, and PLC/HMI software for new or upgraded production equipment in California. You will ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and related standards while coordinating with vendors for equipment builds and installations.

Responsibilities include CAD drafting in DraftSight/SolidWorks, documentation, and troubleshooting, with 1–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • PLC and HMI programming experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, NEC, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong understanding of electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Electrical troubleshooting with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and similar tools.
  • Knowledge of single- and three-phase AC and DC circuit design, and instrument selection.
  • 2D and 3D CAD experience (DraftSight or SolidWorks).
  • LabVIEW and data acquisition experience a plus.
  • PE license, PMP, or other relevant certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical schematics, enclosure layouts, conduit runs, and PLC/HMI code for new or upgraded equipment, following NFPA, NEC, and other applicable standards
  • Design control, instrumentation, and electrical systems for production equipment, with some mechanical design
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors to direct equipment builds and installations
  • Plan short, medium, and long-term projects while balancing timelines and equipment downtime
  • Write technical documents, including preventative maintenance guides, operating instructions, control narratives, and capital project proposals
  • Create and modify technical drawings and models in CAD to document equipment and systems
  • Source and order the parts, materials, and tools needed for projects
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system problems on installed equipment, working with Reliability and Maintenance staff
  • Assist other engineers in determining the feasibility of designs and fabricating equipment parts
