Job summary

Gosnaphop in Buffalo, NY seeks a Controls Engineer to design, maintain, and improve industrial automation systems supporting manufacturing operations.

This role requires strong PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system‑level problem-solving skills. You will design, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems and HMIs, interpret schematics and P&IDs, and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to ensure high uptime and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Industrial automation and controls experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and HMI development.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Experience with multiple PLC platforms, robotics, motion control, or vision systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable supporting high-uptime production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems and HMI applications.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues in a production environment.
• Support equipment commissioning, startups, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to resolve equipment and process issues.
• Document PLC logic, I/O changes, software revisions, and system modifications.
• Ensure controls systems comply with applicable safety standards and engineering practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including robotics, motion control, and vision systems.
