Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Controls Engineer for an industrial engineering company in Aurora, CO. You will program PLCs (Rockwell RS Logix 5000) and HMIs for conveyors and materials handling systems, with optional AutoCAD panel design.

The role is a 6-month contract-to-hire position requiring a federal background check and drug testing. 3+ years in troubleshooting/commissioning and 5+ years in PLC/HMI programming are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree heavily preferred.
• 3+ years engineering experience troubleshooting and/or commissioning commercial conveyer, material handling, sortation, or similar equipment.
• 5+ years' experience programming PLC/HMI from concept to completion or as part of a systems integrator; 3+ years AutoCAD design for industrial control panels.

Responsibilities

• Program PLCs (Rockwell/RS Logix 5000) and HMI for conveyors, sortation, and materials handling equipment.
• Develop and design industrial control panels (AutoCAD) for fabrication by panel shop.
• Possibly support installation and commissioning at client sites.

Job Description

An Industrial Engineering company specializing in mechanical and control systems commissioning and decommissioning is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team in Aurora, CO. As a Controls Engineer, you will Program PLCs (usually Rockwell/RS Logix 5000 + RS Factory Talk) for conveyors, sortation, and materials handling equipment for various clients within shipping and air travel industries. This includes VFDs and Graphical touchscreens. You may be trained to design industrial control panels using AutoCAD to be built by the panel shop.

The company is well established and continually growing in a recession proof industry. The position is a 6 Month Contract to Hire (will go permanent after 6 months with room for advancement). A federal background check and drug test are required upon an offer being extended.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree heavily preferred
• 3+ years engineering experience troubleshooting and/or commissioning commercial conveyer, material handling, sortation, or similar equipment
• 5+ years' experience programming PLC/HMI from (concept to completion OR canned logic is ok if involved as a systems integrator)3+ years AutoCAD design experience for industrial control panels
