Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Controls/SW Engineer to lead feasibility assessments, define feature roll-out plans, and mentor a team of controls engineers.

The role interfaces with propulsion and other engineering units, ensuring rigorous validation and driving improvements in controls processes using Matlab/Simulink and Embedded C. Strong collaboration and ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven record delivering high quality technical solutions within complex systems.
• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (2 years in automotive).
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience as Controls/SW developer using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C or calibration is a plus.
• Be proactive, take ownership and be accountable.
• Familiarity with software development tools and debugging techniques.
• Strong collaboration and clear communication.

• Providing Feasibility and cost assessment for Controls & SW to the vehicle/programs.
• Representing the Controls System (Controllers and SW) vs the Propulsion System Community as primary interface.
• Defining Feature Roll-out Plan (What and When) that aligns to over all program milestones and objectives.
• Playing a key role in the Controls & SW change Management, Quality assessment and Risk mitigation.
• Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Ensure rigorous validation of control functions to meet and exceed specified requirements throughout the vehicle development cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other engineering units to drive the development of cutting-edge controls technology.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• As need to work on Complex Systems, it is essential the successful candidate can show a proven record of working on his/her own initiative and within a team delivering high quality and robust technical solutions
• Bachelor/Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (2 years in automotive)
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Previous experience as Controls/SW developer using Matlab Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C, testing or calibration engineer will be considered a plus
• Be proactive, take ownership and be accountable.
• Familiarity with software development tools and debugging techniques.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
