Industrial Controls EngineerPosition SummaryWe are seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer to design, program, troubleshoot, and improve automation and control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency while supporting new equipment installations and upgrades.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, HMI applications, and industrial control systems.Diagnose electrical and automation issues involving sensors, motors, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, and industrial networks.Design and update electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and related documentation.Support equipment installations, commissioning, startup, and validation.Identify and implement improvements that reduce downtime and increase productivity.Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve recurring equipment issues.Integrate new equipment and automation into existing manufacturing processes.Maintain control system documentation, program backups, and revision records.Support machine safety systems and ensure designs meet applicable electrical and safety standards.Train maintenance technicians and operators on equipment controls and troubleshooting.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.Experience supporting industrial controls and automation in a manufacturing environment.Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills; Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens experience preferred.Experience developing and troubleshooting HMI applications.Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.Working knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial communication protocols.Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.Preferred ExperienceProgramming PLCs from scratch and commissioning automated equipment.Robotics, motion control, and machine safety systems.Electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.Manufacturing equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.You should be proficient in:Bachelor's DegreePLC Programming ExperienceMachines & technologies you'll use:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
