Job summary

Fives Group in the Ann Arbor area is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design electrical hardware, develop PLC programs, and lead on-site commissioning with customer teams.

The role emphasizes integrating Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, HMI development, and traveling to customer sites (20–30%) to validate systems in automotive, aerospace or electronics environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years with Controls and Electrical design.
• Strong PLC programming experience-ideally with both Allen Bradley and Siemens software.
• Technical degree in an electrical related field preferred (Bachelor's preferred, but will consider other degrees and experience).
• Experience with custom machinery in automotive, aerospace, medical, or electronics is preferred.
• Robot Programming or path teaching experience (FANUC).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior ERP/MRP experience and BOM creation.
• Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and installs (20-30%).
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities
