Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Naperville, IL seeks an Industrial Automation Technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors and I/O modules across manufacturing lines. You will handle 480V 3‑phase power, servo drives, and VFDs, while maintaining encoders and load cells.

Strong safety discipline and PLC/HMI programming skills are required. The role includes ladder logic modifications, graphic interfaces, and PM of conveyors and automated equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Experience with servo systems preferred.
• Experience with packaging equipment in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and associated control wiring.
• Provide troubleshooting of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Modify PLC logic using ladder logic; work on graphic HMI/SCADA interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose Profibus, serial, and industrial Ethernet communications.
• Diagnose issues using electrical schematics; conduct preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors, and production equipment.

Job description

Ability to work 3rd shift, Overtime (1.5) after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. 10 paid holidays, PTO upon start, regular and irregular raises based on performance.Duties:Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and soft starts.Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders, and load cells.Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI interfaces.Perform configuration and logic modifications to PLC control systems.
