Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Kendall Township, Illinois, seeks a skilled technician for a 3rd shift to install, configure, and troubleshoot automation hardware and controls on production lines.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, encoders, and load cells; perform ladder logic changes and diagnostics of Profibus, serial, and industrial Ethernet. Benefits include 401(k), dental/vision/health insurance, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and servo systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and related control wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power distribution, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; modify ladder logic as needed.
• Diagnose communication protocols including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet; work with electrical schematics for fault isolation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors and production equipment.

Ability to work 3rd shift, Overtime (1.5) after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. 10 paid holidays, PTO upon start, regular and irregular raises based on performance.Duties:Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and soft starts.Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders, and load cells.Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI interfaces.Perform configuration and logic modifications to PLC control systems.
