Job summary
Talos Automation is seeking a Controls Design Engineer in Michigan to design electrical drawings and develop PLC/HMI/SCADA software. You will travel to panel shops and job sites, lead start-up and commissioning, and coordinate with project teams to ensure on-time delivery.
A background in industrial control systems and familiarity with Rockwell or Siemens hardware is required. The role involves creating documentation, coordinating subcontractor scopes, and supporting equipment checkout in the
Qualifications
- 1-5 years in a role with industrial control systems
- Experience with PLCs and HMIs from Rockwell or Siemens
- Understanding of standard industrial electrical drawings; CAD not required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/engineering technology preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Read proposals, specs and scopes to understand our work
- Develop electrical drawings with Senior Project Engineers/Managers
- Develop PLC, HMI or SCADA software and commissioning docs
- Develop lockout placards and spare parts lists
- Travel to panel shops and job sites (typical 30-40%)
- Lead start-up and commissioning, document setpoints and markups
- Supervise electrical contractors and ensure project delivery
- Finish documentation for final as-built transmittal
