Job summary

Job description

• Create new control strategies, diagnostics, and communication methods for General Motors portfolio applications
• Develop controls and diagnostics using common methods for VMEC features
• Develop algorithms for vehicle features and systems
• Research and develop solutions to controls problems across chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal domains
• Advance control and system simulation technology
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers to define vehicle, subsystem, and behavioral requirements
• Develop robust vehicle-system algorithms from a clean sheet, including software architecture, implementation, integration, and testing
• Collaborate with other teams to define and integrate components
• Check functionality on the bench and on the vehicle
• Define software unit tests, HIL tests, and vehicle tests based on customer expectations and system requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree
• Two years of experience in the job offered or related engineering position
• Two (2) years of experience with embedded controls or controls software development
• Two (2) years of experience with Simulink and MATLAB
• Two (2) years of experience with controls software development in C programming
• One year of experience with plant modeling and/or analysis tools
• One year of experience with system Modeling and Simulation including Software, Hardware, Model in-the-loop
• Must be able to report to the local office
• Ability to travel 10% internationally and domestically
