Job summary

Black Hills Energy seeks an entry to mid-level technician to install and maintain control systems and automation equipment across Casper, Laramie, or Rawlins in Wyoming. You will work with PLC/SCADA assets, perform I&M checks, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

No prior experience is required; comprehensive on-site training is provided. A valid driver's license and up to 25% travel are expected as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required; training provided.
• Understanding of natural gas measurement and AGA standards.
• Basic math skills and intermediate digital literacy.
• Good verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates and adjusts SCADA and PLC control systems and RTU equipment.
• Performs I&M checks on control systems.
• Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
• Install conduit, wire, and perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Test and calibrate meters, gauges, transmitters and related equipment.
• Work safely around energized equipment following safety procedures and lockout/tagout rules.
• Complete documentation and ensure regulatory/compliance standards.
