Job summary

Jobtailor in Wright Township, PA, is seeking an experienced PLC programmer/technician to perform programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems in industrial environments.

You will independently develop and troubleshoot ladder logic, integrate HMIs, sensors, and actuators, and support reliability initiatives and senior engineering with multi-craft responsibilities.

Qualifications

3-5 years hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Allen Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 preferred.
Proficient in Ladder Logic, Add-on Instructions, and Structured Text programming.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems.
Independently modify, troubleshoot, and validate PLC ladder logic for equipment enhancements and reliability.
Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
Use predictive measures to enhance equipment reliability through CRI initiatives.
Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
Support mechanical technicians as needed in this multi-craft role (~30%).
Respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent conditions to restore operations.

Job description

Perform intermediate programming and safety configuration of PLC-controlled systems
Independently develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic using standard programming languages, including ladder logic and function block
Independently install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems in industrial environments with minimal supervision
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components
Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators
Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements
Train junior technicians and provide technical support
Use predictive measures to enhance equipment reliability through Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI) initiatives
Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices
Support mechanical technicians as needed in this multi-craft role, approximately 30% of the time
Respond to equipment breakdowns and sudden conditions requiring immediate action to restore operations

Requirements

3-5 years of hands-on professional experience independently programming, troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment
Demonstrated ability to independently modify, troubleshoot, and validate PLC ladder logic to support equipment enhancements, process improvements, and operational reliability
Experience in ladder logic programming in Allen Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 Software (preferred)
Proficient in programming User defined Tags, Add-on instructions, and Structured text programming (preferred)
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP (preferred)
Experience in editing HMI applications in FactoryTalk View Studio (preferred)
