Job summary

Enscicon Corporation is seeking a Controls & Automation Specialist for oil & gas projects. The role blends office engineering with hands-on field support, including on-site commissioning and travel about half the time.

Qualifications

Controls & Automation Specialist – Oil & Gas

We are seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Specialist with a strong background in industrial programming, systems integration, and field commissioning. This role will support automation and control system projects within the oil & gas industry, with a combination of office-based engineering/programming work and hands-on support at client sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, configure, and troubleshoot industrial control and automation systems.
• Support DeltaV DCS programming, configuration, and integration.
• Support automation projects for oil & gas facilities, including midstream and downstream applications.
• Perform system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and controls system modifications.
• Participate in FAT/SAT activities, system startup, and on-site commissioning.
• Troubleshoot control systems, communications, instrumentation, and related automation issues in the field.
• Support SCADA/HMI development and configuration, including Ignition, as needed.
• Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, clients, and field personnel throughout project execution.
• Travel to client and project sites approximately 50% of the time. (All travel accommodations will be provided)

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with industrial controls, automation, PLC programming, and system integration.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with DeltaV or similar DCS platforms is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting automation and controls projects within the oil & gas industry.
• Hands-on experience with field startup and commissioning of industrial control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently diagnose controls and automation issues.
• SCADA/HMI experience, particularly with Ignition, is preferred but not required.
• An engineering or related technical degree is a plus but not required. Relevant hands-on programming, controls, and systems integration experience will be strongly considered.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%.

Location & Travel

This position can be based in either the Denver, CO or Houston, TX area. When not traveling to client/project sites, the individual will work from the local office. Expect approximately 50% travel.
