Job summary

SRC Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Controls & Automation) to design, implement, and optimize PLC-based systems and automated equipment in Springfield, MO.

The role partners with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to improve uptime, safety, and cost efficiency. The candidate should have a BS in Engineering and 5 years in manufacturing engineering or product development, with PLC, robotics, Python, 3D printing, and machine vision experience.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related discipline.
• Five (5) years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Product Development.
• Five (5) years of Manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Python programming for manufacturing automation, data acquisition, data analysis, equipment communication, or engineering productivity tools.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing/additive manufacturing for prototyping, fixtures, gauges, tooling, or production support applications.
• Experience with industrial machine vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems and automated equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning, validation, and startup of new equipment.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operations for safety, quality, productivity, or cost.
• Develop Python scripts to automate engineering tasks, collect and analyze production data, interface with manufacturing equipment, and improve process monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Supports the programming, integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation.
• Uses 3D printing/additive manufacturing to rapidly develop prototypes, fixtures, gauges, tooling, and other manufacturing aids; evaluates appropriate materials and printing methods for production applications.
• Integrates, configures, and troubleshoots machine vision systems for inspection, measurement, error-proofing, part identification, and automated process control.
